new project for arthouse

Arthouse has another sketchbook project going on... The Sketchbook Project 4. they give you a theme and you make a book from it. the book is due back to them by the 1st of december. the show will go on tour like the last one. this time the books stay at arthouse afterwards to be part of a permanent collection or library of books. here's my 1st/title page... only 39 to go... the book they sent is a 5.5"X8.5" cahier style moleskine. the paper is ultra thin so bleed through is a serious problem, oh well...

windy in NYC

the lady on the left is a friend and talented artist from NYC... i made her hair messed up from the wind (the wind is something i remember from my few visits to the big apple). this picture doesn't do her justice. i may try to draw her again later.

what can i say, i like women with dark hair...

my birthday was pretty eventless. i walked about town, drew nothing, took no pictures... came home to an empty house, ate my dinner, then drew the next part in my moleskine. now it's time for bed... early day tomorrow. funny, i don't feel any older, and i still act like a kid...

my birthday...

another year older... still drawing. i've only missed a few days since i decided to draw something everyday. on those days i didn't, i made it a point to do something art related. time for bed, goodnight...

the big red wagon

there's a rather large sculpture of a radio flyer wagon in riverfront park, done by ken spiering. it is the largest in the world... the handle is a slide, that the kids love. i have never taken a slide on this bad boy... maybe i should.

walk in the park

took a walk in manito park today. sat down on a bench in the japanese gardens to sketch. i didn't feel overly self-conscious and finished most of this there. i'll try to fill this sketchbook with sketches done around town.

working in colors or my grey heart...

Going back through this moleskine... Friday talked to a gallery owner and he has booked me for a solo show in June of next year. He looked at my last sketchbook and wants to do a show of my sketchbooks. I agreed, so I plan on finishing a few more by then, as well as a dozen or so of framed sketches... I also got a call from another place that wants to sell the ceramic whistles... I only have a few left, guess I better start making more.

last night...

Suk, my wife, was really into the movie she was watching. normally she moves around too much to draw. This moleskine will have various drawings of her throughout the years we've been together. That's 24 of them almost exactly, wow, where did the time go, and wow, i feel old...
