Starting to wonder why I do the things I do (again). I have so much work to do but lack the motivation, desire, or energy to do it. After this show, I'm going to try and shake things up, go for a little trip somewhere and re-evaluate where I'm at. Now that the weather is warm and the snow is melting I should take a walk in the woods and see what was being covered by the deep snow...

The weekend is nearing and so is my wife's sister and her new husband. While they're here I'll have to lock myself away and finish more tiles for the show in April. I need to get cracking and start on a new idea/theme for another show (if I can land one). Blah blah blah.

I'm in at the gallery. Show will be open on April 4th. Hope I can finish a few more pieces before then. These are a couple more images from Kristine's book. The weekend is here, I better get busy.

I wait in the dim light of the computer screen for word from the gallery... was I accepted? The call is supposed to come tonight. Instead of sitting here I should be working on another piece... I need more inspiration, from where? The streets are cold and lonely, maybe I should roam them looking for a muse like a homeless person looks for dropped coins or a handout. At times I wonder about my own fate.

boom

More shit done today. Just a few more and I'll be ready for a show. If the group at the gallery gives me the thumbs up then I'll show these in April... If not, I don't know when. I still have enough tiles for 2 or 3 more groupings (depending on how many I clump together). Back to labors...

Another page from Kristine's "book". Today has been a busy one, I'm firing a kiln, making frames, painting frames, cleaning the garage, got the bike out (weather is looking good), put the Yakima rack on the Scion, and other general bullshit that needed to be done. If tomorrow is sunny I'll take more pictures and post them on this silly thing...

K teen's book

Tomorrow Kristine and I are going to Kinkos to make a copy of her children's book project for school. The images were simple in design. They start out in color then fade to black and white, and finish in full color again... The story starts happy then gets sad... I'm sure you get the idea.
I took some pieces down to the gallery for review. Everyone that saw them liked what they saw, but the rest of the partners will make the determination next Tuesday.
Later, its beer thirty....

more tiles...

More tile pieces for a show in April. I have to finish 12 more of the drawing tiles and another of the 3 head tiles, also a 15 bomb tile, and two 12 head tile pieces.

The drawn tile pieces "float 3/4" above the board on the back of the frame.

Tomorrow I meet with the gallery to find out how much wall space I will have at the group show. I know I have enough wall pices to fill a larger gallery by myself. I guess I'll be weeding through my work to show the strongest pieces...

The snow came today. It fell in various ways. The inches accumulated and the cars got stuck. I went on my roof to check my patch job, then shoveled, cleared snow off the Sat dish, and finally stood on the garage watching cars go by as I pissed into the snow bank below. Now it seems to be warming up. The road up the hill behind the house is slicker than snot... watch out

More pages from the moleskine sketchbooks I like to carry around with me. Today was another boring day, at least it didn't snow. Tomorrow we are supposed to get another storm... maybe they'll send us home early. Blah blah blah the weather, I need to be working on some drawings for April...

Raw Space

Picked up my stuff from the Raw Space show. Sold the one on the right and the other two may have takers (if they call me back). Another person, who teaches art, asked if she could take pictures to show her students... I said sure. Anyway it was a good experience overall and I actually enjoyed myself.

sketches

Just a few more sketchbook images... I need to be drawing some that I can put in a show in April. I put three sculptural pieces in a show that opened last night. I sold one sculpture by 7:00 and there's a possibility that another may be purchased soon. I met a lot of people that wanted to talk about art and visit my studio to "hang-out". Later on at a party I made some more art connections with the possibility of some road trips to Seattle (when the weather gets warmer). Has anyone seen the sun? Can you still feel your toes? Fuck it, the season will change and so will the complaints.

I'm back

Getting ready to go out and roam around the galleries for the Visual Arts Tour. I have a few sculptures at one space so I should stop there for a few minutes. Richard Notkin is showing at a gallery that is a must see on my list. I've been drawing and shovelling snow (lots of it). Yesterday my roof sprang a leak... I spent the whole day running back and forth from the roof to the room with the leak. I got the leak to stop by removing an ice dam. I tore up the carpet and ripped out two walls of sheet rock. Today I patched the leak now I'l let everything dry out 100% then start redoing the walls and carpet... yipee. I guess I'll miss the Superbowl again this year. Who cares... blah blah blah.
