last page...

The last page in the abandoned/trash moleskine... never thought i'd get it done. i don't want to look at trash anymore... You may notice another video in the video bar, the current sketchbook is posted on there.
I'm going to try to finish the "face" book fairly quickly... sure... See y'all online, i need to get some shut eye so i can get up in a few hours for work...

start of a new japanese folding album

Started a new Japanese album style moleskine. Haven't drawn people in a while. I will try to finish this book by mid September. The last moleskine took me a month and a half. I need to start the one for Art House Coop, due in a couple months. I'm still working on the concept for that one.

abandoned puppy

15 years ago, while working in the woods, I found a little puppy abandoned in the woods. He became my best friend and was with me for 13+ years. I don't understand how people can just ditch little puppies or kittens who can't fend for themselves. I've been thinking a lot about getting a new dog...

pens... sakura... pigma... micron...

i have a habit of losing pens, they fall out of my pockets, backpack, sketchbook, hands, etc... i usually find them when i go back on a search for them. i would hate to be considered a litterer...

IF: caution

Theme for Illustration Friday is caution. Goes with the abandoned theme in my moleskine. An abandoned open well, use cation. Better yet cover or fill it. Found one on my property and took care of it, found another where I work. It was in an area we don't use, but it made me wonder how it got left open all those years ago.

three wheels

the pages are slowly disappearing in this moleskine. today was a beautiful day, i did a ton of yard work and tried to fix my old lawnmower. it has a gas leak when i shut it off. after tearing it apart and rebuilding the carb... it still leaked. oh well, i've had it forever and keep fixing it. guess i'll draw it and replace it.

broken bike and bits and pieces, i've always been a gear head... only a few more pages, growing tired of this "theme" will start doing people again soon.

working hands laying idle forgotten on the trail...

gloves and boots always looked cool to me. since i'm doing the abandoned/trash theme, figured i'd draw my missing worn out work gloves. gloves are a common find along the road, sidewalk, and trails. i found a pair of children's knit gloves by the bank and put them on the wall entering the bank. they were still there on my next couple visits. any way i'm digressing. keep on drawing, painting, sculpting, taking pictures, whatever your art form, the world needs more visual stimulus that allows the viewer to interpret instead of being told what to think and believe... what am i rambling about? guess i should stop blabbering and get back to work in the yard... peace out

more crap discarded by the trail along the cliff a few miles from here. the road was closed by the parks department, people still manage to dump. the waste to energy plant is only a few miles from there...

still working...

my wife thinks it's funny when i stop the car to pick-up tools off the road, or how while i'm hiking i always find some sort of "junk"to bring home to fix or use. she thinks at times that i'm a total bum...

how not to take a dump in the woods...

oh the joy of walking along and having the call of nature creep up on ya. a soiled toilet abandoned just off the old jeep trail is not a welcomed sight... i remember in high school, a group of friends and i, setting up a toilet on the covered walk way entering my high school. my friends and i thought it looked cool... the administration didn't, they politely asked for it to be removed.

oil jug...

went a little more simple with this one... but please if you change your own oil, take it to a place that will dispose of it properly!

empty

didn't make it home earlier enough to finish a drawing, or post one... spent the evening walking about town visiting galleries during "first friday". stopped @ bar afterwards and hung-out with several other artists until nearly midnight. a rather pleasant night all in all. i'll try to make up for my missed drawing day by drawing another later tonight.

near the river downtown

there are these big basalt columns with granite boulders not far from the riverwalk downtown. these are part of the sculpture by Michihiro Kosuge. since the first time i saw them i have been impressed, unfortunately they are off the beaten path. the scale of these things are... well... huge!

rusted

sittin' round listen to the red hot chili peppers, drawin' an old rusted red wagon. spokane has a huge sculpture of one that is also a slide. someday i should draw that thing...

it's for you...

ditched in an alley way, guess it had a problem with dropped calls and texting must have been a bitch...

drive shaft gone

rear axle toast, drive shaft gone, tranny linkage loose, brakes none, floor boards rotten, cab mounts rusted away to nuthin', glass broken or cracked... the perfect home for field mice, my old truck now blocks the road entering my property. before that people would drive up and dump yard waste and other trash...

rocks

i stacked these rocks a couple years ago in the hills across from my house. while walking the other day i noticed they are still there. back when i worked in the woods, i would stack rocks everywhere. every once in a while i go back and set up more...

another month

holy crap, it's already august. where is the time going? soon the leaves will fall and so will the temps. right now i wish it was cooler. outside is like an oven.
i need to start drawing abandoned trash again...
