IF voices

The voices in my head are telling me to head to a warmer climate and to free myself from stress... should I listen?

Nice old school work here.

This looks more like a Tom Waits situation than an R.E.M. situation to me. First illustrationfriday? It's a good group, welcome, if so -

Hey, it's great to have your back.
How are you doing?
Yeah, so beautiful and loving all the details here!
If your voices mean good, you should be able to identity....you will normally feel calm and definite about it. Think over it and make it happen.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you Joseph & your family!
Bye.

Depends - if you listen will they shut up? or just change their tune and start bitching about something else?

I really like the way you get realism and exaggeration to work together like this!

great illo joseph… it is so nice to see your actual sketchbook in there… and 80° weather does not exactly give you that warm holiday feeling… next year i may be heading north with the family for christmas…

and if he's thinking about hopping that particular train… tell him to wait… the 666 is a bit much for the holidays… and maybe the destination would be a bit warmer than he was looking for…

happy holidays!!!

Thanks Suana, bubblemunch (cutename), and Michael, and happy holidays to you all!

Michael, good point, not a good train to jump on, think he'll wait for a safer one!

Your comment on my blog was the best christmas present Santa Claus could give me -- to make other people laugh!

And to see that the comments come from such a wonderful artist. I wish I could see the Lincoln show you are preparing for. The pieces on your blog are really thought provoking, especially juxtaposed with such a historic and inspiring election! Best of luck with it!

Christmas cheer to you and yours!

Hehe, it seems like your palette of colors is asking you to move to a warmer place too ;-)

Did you draw the train in the place, from memory, graphic references...? I admire this detailed works in a tiny sketchbook.

Emily, I feel your pain... too much snow, stuck at home...

L A Stern, thank you for the laugh, I have all but one piece completed for the show. The last one (I'm still working on) ties in the last election and a Lincoln quote.

Sara, I live near trains, and always wanted to draw one... so finally I did, I worked from life and photos (for extra details).

Paying attention to the voices isn't the same as OBEYING them. It's warmer here in Texas, but their are still stressors.
