clay whistles...

haven't been drawing much lately, i've been making clay whistles for the "art in the garden" thingy that is coming up in two weeks... need to bisque fire these little dudes, glaze 'em, then fire again... these all work and several play multiple notes. all total, there are 35 (not all are in this picture). now back to drawing...

these are so cool! I'm curious how big they are...My favorite is the fish in the bottom picture in the middle :)

Those heads have a familiar feeling to me...like i've seen them before...maybe in the French movie, 'Fantastic Planet'.

thanks to everyone for the whistle comments. Ester, i'll have to check out the movie you're talking about. i've made heads like them for the tile pieces i do and on a few sculptures. the fish you refer to was done for my daughter's friend. they are almost dry enough to bisque now. i'll probably give them till thursday before i fire 'em.

I love to see what you are doing!
Oh, Chromatophore will have a happy home at the Studio 620 in St. Pete--opening August 27th! So we have a real gallery for a super show!! I'm so excited.
